Bob Hankey supports Senator Kobluchar
Why I’m Caucusing for Amy Klobuchar
I support Amy Klobuchar for President because she is a moderate from the Midwest that, in the general election, can attract Democrats, Independents, and more than a few Republicans who are ready for a change. She will restore integrity, honesty, decency and rational thought to the office of the presidency.
She will once again let our allies know that we are with them and not the autocrats and dictators of the world. The United States will once again be looked upon as a reliable partner and leader in world matters.
Amy will be able to work with both political parties in Congress. The plans she presents can pass in a divided government. She will be a leader that looks out for all Americans.
Her plan to add a public insurance option to the affordable care act is a big step in the right direction that will give all citizens quality, affordable health insurance. She has plans to reduce prescription costs so people will not be forced to make impossible choices. Amy will prioritize important mental health and substance addiction measures.
She will get the United States back in the International Climate Change Agreement to fight the most important problem facing our planet. She will promote renewable energy that will help the rural economies and create new, green, future proof jobs.
Amy will raise the minimum wage to $15, which has not seen an increase in over 10 years. With that modest increase, our fellow Iowans will be able to afford the basic necessities of life for themselves and their families.
She wants all of us to share in the economic prosperity of our great country, through quality education from preschool through college. She has a plan for Tuition-free one-and-two year community college degrees and technical certifications.
She supports immigration reform that will allow people to be treated with dignity at our borders and supports the Dreamers. She has a plan to rebuild our infrastructure; she is a big supporter of farmers and investing in rural areas including high speed internet access and much more.
In short, Amy is someone that will allow you to turn on the news or read through a newspaper and know that you will be proud of what you hear and read. With her being from the Midwest, I know her values are my values and the values of most Americans. I know that she will work hard to make our communities, our country and our planet a better place, so please join with me on February 3rd and caucus for Amy.
