***Action Alert + Weekly Update***
Republicans at the Statehouse started work on a new voucher bill last week (SSB 3206). If it’s approved, it will eventually divert hundreds of millions from public schools to private schools instead. While the bill this year does not include vouchers for home schooling, watch the video above and learn more about the Republican voucher plan (aka Education Savings Accounts).
It will likely be debated by the Senate Appropriations Committee this week and then would go on to the Senate Floor. After years of underfunding by Republicans, our public schools can’t afford it.
Please contact the Republican lawmakers on the Senate Appropriations Committee TODAY and tell them public money is for public schools.
