School just started but the report card is already out for our governor. In the subject of Iowa’s K-12 education, Kim Reynolds is failing.
Reynolds, her predecessor, and the Republicans in the legislature have spent a lot of time in the last few years short-changing public education in the state to devastating effect.
Teachers are going without basic classroom supplies, bus drivers are hunting for spare parts to keep buses running safely, and janitors are looking up ways to keep mold from spreading. It is ridiculous.
Year after year, schools have begged and pleaded with Reynolds and the Iowa GOP to help them. But their pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Reynolds even told our schools to be “very thankful” for what was given to them. What a lot of ….. I won’t say it, but you know exactly what I’m thinking.
Our school districts are in jeopardy. Students are falling further and further behind, shrinking their future job options and our economy. Funding our children’s education shouldn’t be a partisan issue. Add your name to our petition and tell Governor Reynolds to invest in our kids.
Schools are back in session and there is no time to spare. We must push back against Governor Reynolds and her negligence of Iowa’s public schools. Allowing our children to fall behind because Republicans choose to make education a partisan issue is dangerous and wrong. We can overcome these challenges, but only if we act now.
Don’t allow Kim Reynolds to keep playing political games with our children’s future. Help us fight back by adding your name and standing with Iowa’s public schools.
