Clayton County Foundation for the Future
Establishes Restore McGregor 2017 Tornado Fund
“To our friends and supporters,
As a result of the tornado that tore through McGregor last night, today we established the Restore McGregor 2017 Tornado Fund. This fund will accept contributions from individuals and corporations, and will allocate those funds to the City of McGregor and area nonprofits whose efforts actively address the most critical community needs and provide assistance to households impacted by the tornado. Contributions will be accepted through our website at www.dbqfoundation.org/mcgregor.
The extent of the damage has yet to be determined. No injuries have been reported. In McGregor, strong winds knocked walls off some buildings in the downtown area, and some off their foundations. The city hall was severely impacted. There are also trees and branches down everywhere.
Clayton County Foundation for the Future is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque (CFGD), which has expertise and experience in making grants in response to natural disasters. Since 2008, CFGD has granted more than $750,000 in disaster response to Allamakee, Delaware, and Dubuque counties.
