Iowa Statehouse Progressive Network Update
*** 2017 Legislative Session ***
Watch our video for a special tribute Thank you!
We first want to say thank you for all the calls, emails, and participation at rallies and forums across the state. It made a difference and it was the first step in working together to hold Republicans at the Statehouse accountable.
Last week, the Governor finally brought an end to one of the worst sessions in Iowa history. Republican lawmakers ignored the concerns of Iowans and broke their promise to create jobs and raise family incomes. While rewarding the special interests and out-of-state corporations, the GOP stacked the deck against every day Iowans who are working hard but still not getting ahead.
Below you will find links to more useful information about the end of the 2017 legislative session. Moving ahead, we’ll be emailing you monthly until the next session begins in January to keep you up to date on key issues that are likely to come up next session. We hope the Statehouse Progressive Network has been informative for you this year. Please email us back if you have any comments and suggestions for us in the future.
Thanks again for all your work and keep fighting!
Sincerely,
House & Senate Democrats
PS — Governor Kim Reynolds took over as Governor today, but make sure you know the truth and help us hold her accountable!
